Well, we know Swansea has lots of two of those things, but the third has remained a little elusive recently. Not so perhaps in the days when these four bathing beauties got together for a happy snap in the sea at Oxwich, Gower, during the summer of 1948. Looking back the weather always seemed perfect then! All four are sporting the latest fashion in ladies swimwear for the time and no doubt turned many male heads in doing so. The picture is one of around 400 that can be found in the latest fascinating volume of nostalgia pictures from David Roberts. Swansea-Simply the Best! is due to be launched in mid-September. It promises to be one of the best yet and among other things pays homage to the recent success of Swansea City in gaining promotion to the Premier League.
