DOLPHINS, PORPOISES AND MORE!

The last weekend in July saw Simon our designer and I having a much deserved day off with our daughter. We had booked a trip to Worm’s Head on the Gower Coast Adventure and were mildly disappointed to find that it was a very overcast day.

However our disappointment turned to delight when we soon spotted several porpoises arcing out of the water. But our entertainment was only just beginning! A little way off Worm’s Head we encountered not just one or two dolphins but literally dozens of them. They swarmed around the boat leaping clear out of the water performing as if in no doubt how enthralled we all were. Dave Tonge the skipper of the Sea Serpent told us that the day before; he had seen a leatherback turtle in the same area – attracted by the many jellyfish that had arrived due to the warm water.

Isn’t it marvellous to know that we have such amazing wildlife around our coast?
