Last year we were all about the clog and the army boot but this year we are loving the Wedge and the Brogue. Wedges are both practical and sexy, they give you the height of a stiletto heel but are easier to walk in and less painful! Bonus! They have been huge this summer adored with big flowers and ruffles but for the autumn expect to see them with a modern sleeker look or on winter boot. Brogues may be traditionally a manly shoe but it’s us women who are taking them to the next level this year. We have been seeing them everywhere in floral fabrics and with lace panels, but for this autumn expect to see them in bright colours and glitter!
We will start on the lower end of the price bracket with the cheapest store on the high street (but one we all secretly love!) Primark. Their Brogues come in an array of pastel shades. And at £14-£16 you could buy a pair with heels and a pair without! Plus if your looking for an extra special pair keep an eye out for one of their glittery pairs which will be arriving in store in September.
Onto the wedges - I am totally smitten with both of Primarks wedged boots which will be hitting the shop between August and September. They will be perfect for the cold weather we will no doubt be getting in just a few months. Both pairs will keep your feet warm and look ultra chic. And priced at just £15 and £18 you could splash out and buy them both.
Primark Heeled Brogues £16 from August - Flat Brogues £14 in October
Wedged boot £15 August - Low boot £18 September
Or if you want shoes that are a bit more sophisticated and are happy to spend a little more on your shoes (and are possibly looking for a little better quality) why not try M&S. No longer are their shoes only suitable for blue rinsed little old ladies but us high heel clad fashionistas. Their shoes might be a little more toned down than those at Primark but they are chic and classic.
On the wedge front why not try their ‘Peep Toe Gingham Check Wedge Slingbacks’ at £19.50 they are a toal steal. The gingham pattern will make your simple jeans and tee combo look so cute. Or if you want something a bit more sophisticated or suitable for the evenings then try out the ‘Autogrpah Suede High Heel Plait Wedge’ in grey (they also come in purple). They are a little more expensive at £55 but they are so versatile you will get lots of wear out of them making them so worth the money.
