Oliver Allard

Swansea, and in particular Langland Bay has a fantastic history of producing great surfers and this month I want to profile a young local lad who may just keep that tradition going for years to come. Bishopston Comprehensive pupil Oliver Allard has only been surfing for a couple of years but he is already turning a few heads with his radical turns and smooth surfing style. This is a hard thing for a youngster to do in the hyper competitive lineup of Langland which boasts numerous national and international champions amongst its ranks. He is working on all aspects of his surfing by riding long and shortboards to help build up a broad base of skills which will hold him in good stead going forward. Ollie made the semis of a Welsh ranking event in his first ever contest last autumn and is super focused on competing at all the ranking contests this year with the aim of getting selected to compete for Wales at the junior Euros next year.

With his determined attitude and some hard work, I wouldn’t bet against this young lad achieving his goals!!
