Marriott employee wins highest company accolade

Hilary Woolvin has worked at the Marriott Hotel in the Waterfront for 26 years as the breakfast shift leader. She was recently invited, along with her husband and hotel manager Michael Downie for a weeklong event in Washington DC at the Marriott North Bethesda. This all expenses paid trip was to meet Mr Marriott and family, CEO of Marriott Hotel Group Arne Sorenson and 850 distinguished guests.

Whilst there, Hilary was presented with the J Willard Marriott Award of Excellence. This award is presented each year to a select few, and recognises the company’s finest associates, and their outstanding service representing Marriott International’s brands and businesses.

Each honouree has demonstrated over a period of time the traits of achievement, character, dedication, effort and perseverance.

The award is the highest award the company bestows on any employee and Hilary was one of only eight to be recognised worldwide. She was the only Honouree from Europe.
