We are well and truly getting stuck into the wedding season, which for me and Mr Cross-Jones means our weekends are jam-packed with photographing beautiful weddings or engagement sessions all over the country (keep your fingers crossed that the current good weather holds out for us). We love our job and I get to see all the stunning wedding day fashion that is on offer.
That’s why this month I thought I would check out the High Street and online stores to find some of the best bridal wear that is on the market at the moment, from stunning traditional gowns to more quirky wedding dresses.
I’ve split my picks into 3 different categories, traditional, short and coloured depending on what type of wedding you favour.
If you’re looking for a traditional wedding dress there are plenty available on the high street and they really don’t have to break the bank. These full length traditional gowns are all stunning. Lace seems to be (and has been for a while) the big trend when it comes to wedding dresses and this year is no different.
Maybe full length wedding dresses aren’t really your thing. If you’re having an evening cocktail party wedding, urban city wedding, something really small and intimate or if it’s your second wedding you might not want a big white gown so these short dresses might be exactly what you’re looking for.
Now who says wedding dresses have to be white, ivory or cream. Coloured dresses can make a major impact if you’re brave enough to wear one, so why not break with tradition and chose something completely unexpected. These stunning gowns would all look amazing as wedding dresses and can all be bought on the High Street. So why not break with convention – after all it is your day.
Alternatively, why not hire a dress? This way you can get a designer gown at a fraction of the cost. All dresses from Chic by Choice are rentals. www.chic-by-choice.com
