ASHLEY PROVIDES A BRIEF UPDATE ON TWO OF HIS EVENTS THAT TOOK PLACE IN JUNE
The Coracle classic vehicle road run took place on Saturday 18th of June with vehicles of various size, type and age arriving at the Civic Centre in readiness for the 10am start. The route to Carmarthen went via Fforestfach, Penllergaer, Pontlliw, Pontarddulais, Fforest, Tycroes, Ammanford, Llandeilo and along the A40 to end with a display in the streets of the oldest town in Wales. The sun was shining and the entrants and visitors were able to enjoy looking around the vehicle display, the shops and to have something to eat.
The 23rd Swansea Festival of Transport took place on Father’s Day Sunday 19th of June. Despite drizzle and heavy rain Swansea was treated to a display of well over 400 vehicles. Everyone made the most of the day with very old cars, scooters, motorcycles, buses and lorries all on display. Valley Mill, a new slate business in the city organised a competition and students from Creative Bubble provided entertainment. It was great to see the streets, shops and cafes so busy.
