I love summer, as I know most people do, but as a Welsh surfer who spends most of the winter encased in thick rubber to protect myself from the freezing water, it feels pretty good to be able to peel off my wetsuit and enjoy surfing the way it’s meant to be done – warm!

 As well as the water becoming a pleasant temperature, the summer waves tend to be cleaner and more perfect when they arrive on our shores. These have been produced by storms in the mid-Atlantic – not like our winter waves which are produced locally.
