Having epically scored in Scotland a few weeks ago, I decided to roll the dice again and booked a ferry and headed for the Emerald Isle.

Empty perfection

Even though Ireland is only a short ferry ride away from the coast of West Wales, the quality of the surf you find there beats our fickle offerings on a daily basis. On the right day their surf can rival the best breaks to be found anywhere in the world.

With a rugged coastline open to the fury of the Atlantic storm window, they receive an abundance of surf all year round.

Sunset over Easkey

One of the best times to take a trip there is in autumn, when the weather and waves can combine to create an idyllic surfing playground.
