LETTER TO THE EDITOR
May I thank you for publishing the item about our forthcoming John Mills guitar evening in Bay, complete with photo! I have had a number of enquiries as a result. You offer a truly invaluable service to local organisations for which we are immensely grateful. I’m sure that many, like myself, look at the Snippets and then go on to read the whole magazine. The articles are truly excellent – not just the trivial pieces you often get in other publications. I’ve recently been to restaurants advertised in the magazine which I would not otherwise have thought about. Congratulations on the high standards and all best wishes for the future! Richard Sherwood
PEOPLE ON PARADE!
For some readers there is nothing like a good parade! When the band starts up and the marching bands begin to play they are in a world of magic and make-believe. Though carnivals waned some years ago for all sorts of reasons they are making a come-
back and certainly add some colour to our Swansea Bay streets for a few hours. Back in the 1980s these members of Swansea All Stars comedy band could frequently be seen strutting their stuff in a variety of colourful costumes. Some readers will remember them well. This lovely photographic reminder is drawn from Swansea Revisited the latest and 19th book from former city journalist and publisher David Roberts. The book captures some fantastic glimpses of Swansea in the past. For details on how to buy a copy visit www.bryngoldbooks.com or phone 01639 643961. Pictures are currently being sought for what it is hoped will be a further volume due for publication in early autumn.
