Bay has teamed up with Jamaican Jills to give one lucky reader the chance to win lunch for two.
Jamaican Jills is the only authentic Jamaican restaurant in Swansea. As you would expect it serves all the old favourites such as curried goat, ackee and saltfish and jerk chicken.
There isn’t one definitive recipe for jerk chicken, every chef has his or her own take on it, but you’ll always find chillies in there along with various herbs and spices.
Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica and ackee and saltfish is the national dish. Although it is classed as a fruit, it is traditionally served in savoury dishes. The flesh is pale yellow with a delicate texture; it has very little flavour which makes it the perfect foil for the salty fish.
Jamaican Jill’s tag line is ‘Come For The Food – Stay For The Fun’, and owner Bernie Davies makes sure that all her guests get to experience some real Jamaican fun. There’s a resident steel band and a comprehensive cocktail list to help things along.
For your chance to win lunch for two simply answer the following question.
What is the national dish of Jamaica?
- Ackee and saltfish
- Fish and chips
- Tandoori chicken
Send your answer along with your name, address and daytime telephone number to firstname.lastname@example.org putting Jamaica Jills in the subject line. The first correct answer drawn will be the winner. No cash alternative. No correspondence will be entered into. Editor’s decision is final.
Closing date for entries is noon on 30/09/2017
