As well as being, surely, one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Gower also has an incredibly rich cultural heritage based on people making their living off the land and the sea. On these courses you’ll learn traditional skills and crafts that were once widely practiced – make your own spoon, butter knife, bread basket, or learn about edible wild plants. We guarantee you’ll get endless pleasure from taking home and using something you have made yourself!
Our first programme of courses was hugely popular, so we’ve added more for Spring and Summer 2018…and, as they’re part-funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, they’re low cost – from just £25 for a 1-day course.
We had great feedback from previous participants and we’re sure you’ll enjoy them too. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

About Gower Landscape Partnership
The Gower Landscape Partnership (GLP) was set-up to inspire and help people learn more about and look after Gower’s incredible landscape and heritage. We were successful in securing £1.3m from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s (HLF), and further support and funding from a number of other partners.
Our current programme is nearing its end, but over the past four and a half years we have been busy…very busy, promoting and protecting this incredible place! In this time we have delivered 50 different projects that have included: the ancient craft of hedgelaying; improving important sites for wildlife; celebrating old traditions like the Mari Lwyd; opening studios of Gower artists to the public; uncovering Gower’s hidden past through archaeology; recording people’s stories through film, art, and oral history; sharing and exploring special places with schools and community groups; inspiring others through poetry; creating hay meadows for bees and butterflies; helping establish Gower’s first community supported agriculture enterprise…and so much more!
We’d love you to join us on one of our courses to experience and celebrate this wonderful place – the UK’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
