FRIENDS OF THE CITY OF SWANSEA BOTANICAL GARDEN
APPEAL FOR NEW ENTRANCE GATES
Last month we told you about the appeal to raise funds for new gates to the Botanical Gardens in Singleton Park. The appeal is getting a good response, but many people are asking how they can donate if they can’t go on-line. To donate by cheque please make it out to FCSBC and send to FCSBC, The Nursery, Singleton Park, Sketty, Swansea, SA2 9DU.

Along the Way
Photographs can bring back
a hundred memories,
people and places, landscapes and scenery.
A click of the camera
Looking up, down, behind, before,
poetic images lingering in the air
like a favourite song.
FLYING THE FLAG!
If there’s one thing our read-ers across our proud city can do . . . and with some gusto it is have a party. There have never been any half measures. With the city in its 50th year flag-bedecked Miers Street, Port Tennant, was just one of countless locations that was determined to celebrate the Investiture of the Prince of Wales in style as this colourful image shows. The picture is one of more than 300 in the book, Swansea – Salute to a city, the latest by David Roberts. It captures many fantastic glimpses of Swansea in the past as well as offering candid shots of the social side of all our lives down the last half a century.
