We’ve had a run of back to back storms lately which should be a joy for surfers as this is what creates the waves we love so much. However, sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for as several of the storms that hit the British isles recently were so strong that they overwhelmed the regular surf spots with huge waves and strong winds that made them unrideable
So, the sheltered spots that almost never get waves were the only option. Locally that means Oxwich bay but that would be so busy as it’s the obvious option. To beat the crowds meant making a bit more effort, leaving Gower and heading a little farther afield.
