March is here and with it, the first burst of bright and beautiful daffodil colours. Speaking of colours, look out for the new and fresh, blue bottled Albarino from Adegas Terrae, the natural red wine Solara from Romania, the perfectly pink Prosecco and the flavourful Corsican rose, all below. We’ve new dates for the WSET Levels 1, 2 and 3 Award in Wines qualifications.

ALBARINO Carallan, Adegas Terrae £12.59 (Mix 6) (Rias Baixas, Spain)

Albarino is a wonderful grape variety and here in this Northwest corner of Spain, it comes into its own. This one is mouth filling and textured (from spending time on fine lees/spent yeast cells) and has refreshing flavours of lively apple, pear and mandarin along with some lovely florality. Altogether, it is quite bracing, zesty and energetic. Perfect on these warmer March days, solo and/or with all kinds of seafood and fish.

SOLARA NATURAL RED 2019 £9.95 (Viile Timisului, Romania)  Vegetarian and Vegan

This natural wine is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s medium bodied and packed full of raspberry and blackberry fruit. Smooth and juicy. Naturally perfect on its own or with a picnic in the backyard!

LA GIOIOSA PROSECCO ROSE 2020 £9.99 (Mix 6) (Prosecco DOC, Italy)

Prosecco Rose has hit the shelves and this one is one to try! It’s dry, refreshing and zesty with racy redcurrant and raspberry fruit. It’s a blend of two grape varieties, Glera and Pinot Noir. Perfect for these warmer days.

ILE DE BEAUTE CORSICON ROSE 2020 £11.00 (Ile De Beaute, Corsica)

A light, fruity, and refreshing rosé with flavours of citrus and white peach. Made from native grape varieties, Sciacarellu and Niellucciu on vineyards overlooking the Mediterranean Sea on the the island of Corsica. The grapes are harvested at night to preserve the freshness and fruity aromas. Enjoy well chilled and with Asian foods.
